We’re happy to confirm that Shadwen will launch with a level editor! Build your own explosive stealth levels with the #Shadwen Level Editor #FromTheShadows Available at launch! pic.twitter.com/rLNHwcjrCC — ShadwenGame (@ShadwenGame) February 26, 2016 The editor is the same one that we use ourselves, so it’s a very versatile tool! The editors allow you to edit existing levels, create whole new levels and share your creations through the Steam Workshop. We’ve already seen some really awesome community-made levels in the Trine games, and we hope to see lots more in Shadwen! We have a team working on creating easy-to-understand tutorials […]
Many thanks for everyone who took part! We’re stoked to see such a positive response and so many people playing the demo. 🙂 The Demo Event has now ended, but the demo is still available to download and play for all who want to try it! Check out www.shadwen.com for more information. It looks like Shadwen’s launch price is going to be $14.55! This price will be valid for about 1-2 weeks from launch depending on the platform, and the regular price will be 15% higher. Launch dates and platforms will be announced later.
We’re excited to announce our new stealth IP: Shadwen! Release in 2016. Shadwen is a true stealth game where the only rule is to remain unseen. Stay hidden – or the ruthless guards will capture you on sight. Check out the very first trailer below! Shadwen, an assassin on a quest to kill the king, has a chance encounter with a little orphaned girl, Lily. She follows Shadwen on her dangerous journey, but when the ruthless guards get too close, Shadwen must take action right in front of Lily’s eyes. Will Shadwen resort to violence and let Lily witness her […]
Now that the official release for Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power is only a few days away (August 20th!) and the Early Access period is coming to an end, we thought it’d be a cool idea to take a look at back at the last few months. For us, this has been a truly great experience. We have learned so much, and we’ve been really happy about the feedback we’ve received from the community. So thank you all for taking part in the Early Access! 🙂 You’ve helped us make this game better, and we feel super excited to […]
Last week we showed you how how this Splot Sculpture was made. We promised to also show pics from the creating process of the below Trine 2 painting. It was painted together by Maija (our writer) and Kaija (from our catering team) for our last year’s office Christmas party. Maija’s comments below: The Trine 2 Painting is something we did with one of my coworkers from catering, as a Christmas gift 2014 for everyone at the office. It’s a photography studio backdrop, and it took about 20 hours to make, we both worked after hours on it after our days […]
You may have seen this huge Splot, crafted by our writer Maija, on our blog before. We received a question about what it was made of. As it happens, Maija had some pictures left from when she was making it, so here you go. 🙂 You’ll find Maija’s comments below the pics. The statue started off as a big flat piece of chicken wire, which I transformed into the shape of Splot. On top of the wire was laid a thin newspaper paper maché base to attach the wet wool on. Here are some of the tools I used: – […]
It’s time for part 3 in our “Day in the Life of” blog series. 🙂 This time we’ll talk about writing! Click here for part 1 (QA) and part 2 (Design). Game writing as a full-time profession is still quite rare. Here at Frozenbyte we currently have one writer, Maija, who’s been with us for over four years now. She started here by writing the stories of Trine 2 and its Goblin Menace expansion (which together form Trine 2: Complete Story). Now she’s been busy with Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, which is currently available on Early Access on […]
If you want to try games that we haven’t released yet and happen to live or be in Finland, now might be your chance! The idea is to get feedback and some fresh perspective on our games before their official releases. This means that we invite some people over to spend a few hours at our office playing games and perhaps engaging in some friendly chatter. The playtest sessions are relatively short – so this is not a paid position nor is this a job add (if you’re looking for work, head over to our Jobs page instead!). However, those […]
We just released a new update for the game! 🙂 The patch should now be live in both North America and Europe. The update adds Japanese text localizations to the game. There were also some general fixes and we added an indicator that allows players to check which levels have already been completed in hard+hardcore, which should make it easier to keep track of their Trophy progression. A while ago we also fixed online multiplayer compatibility between different regions, allowing European and North American users to play together. We haven’t received any user feedback on this though, so if you […]
Hi folks! As many of you know, our editors are available for everyone who own the Trine games for Windows through Steam. The editors make it possible to make your own custom levels and share them with others – and even if modding is not for you, you can still play the amazing levels that others have created. 🙂 We recommend checking out the awesome user-made content for Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power from the Steam Workshop. User-made custom level: Zoya’s training ground by VonRickroll We’ve been quite impressed at the quality of the mods we’ve seen and we’re […]
